Institute of Khadi Agriculture and Rural Development (IKARD) is a registered non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, not for profit organization dedicated itself to integrate community development through the welfare and empowerment of women & children, Education, Better Health Care, Sanitation, Improved Income Generation Activities, Micro-Credits, Renewable Energy and Human Rights. The organization was registered in1993 under society registration act 1860. It has also registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) for foreign contribution.

It was started by a few well educated people to work for effective empowerment of socially and economically marginalized and disadvantaged people through mobilization organization and participation of community particularly women. The organization is currently working in Bihar and Jharkhand. We, the team of IKARD have been making efforts to partner with poor community members particularly women to collectively address poverty, discrimination, inequity, injustices, exploitation, atrocities and economic backwardness.

The organization has a team of devoted, dedicated and laborious social workers having thought to develop the society. The head office of IKARD is located at Saran district of Bihar beside its other branches in different places of its working area which are wholly controlled and managed by head office.

Since very early in his career, Narendra Prasad Singh has worked in a wide array of fields such as education, health care, insurance, vocational trainings etc, putting all the experiences together that worked as the basic idea in the foundation of this organisation.

An educator by profession, Rajesh Ranjan has always had a keen understanding of pitfalls of existing education system and plight of children in the poor and marginalized sections of society. He has consistantly worked on the easy access to education and child rights.
